One way or another, we all do with plants, vegetables or fruit: we live among them, eat them or grow them and eat. When planting them, we try to create the most favourable conditions for the growth and development of seedlings, look after them, water, apply fertilizer, and protect from pests and other adverse climatic conditions.
To achieve success in this business, people apply a great number of various instrument and materials, and one of the most frequent methods is the use of covers. The Agrotex non-woven material, made according to the spunbond technology, has long been an excellent help in vegetable and crop growing in Western countries. Currently, the material is becoming more accessible in our country, too.
If compared with other materials, for example, polyethylene film, the Agrotex non-woven materials breathe, transmit water and fertilizer, and do not allow condensate to be formed on the inside of the material. It provides better protection during spring frosts and creates the optimal microclimate for the growth and development of plants. This results in an increase in the yield and quality of vegetables and fruit. For example, the use of the technologies we have developed made it possible to increase the percentage of early harvest with regard to the total yield of tomatoes from 12-15% to 25-32%. The non-woven material helped reduce the time of potatoes production from 60 to 46 days.
The black Agrotex non-woven mulching material with a density of 60 g/m² solves the problem of weed grass (up to 90%), which excludes time expenditure on weeding. The material retains moisture required for plants; no soil crust is formed under it; weeds do not germinate; watering and top-dressing can be done without removing the material.
The Agrotex non-woven covering material is fully manufactured and packaged in Tver Region in Russia, which excludes any possibility of buying materials of low quality or unadapted to Russian conditions.
