How to choose and what to pay attention to?
In spring, as soon as the snow is gone, the summer season begins. For some, it is just a leisure time, and for others, thoughts about their allotment plot build a clear-cut associative chain: greenhouses, hotbeds, seedlings, covering, protection against frosts and burns, and early harvests.
People go to shops, garden centres or seedling nurseries to buy seeds, seedlings, rootstock, garden tools and unwoven materials. Seeds should be well-tried, tools should be reliable, and seedlings are painstakingly selected. But how to determine the quality of unwoven materials? What should one pay attention to when choosing?
When choosing a material, it is easy to get confused in technical parameters and not to take into account some factor. Therefore, before purchasing, make sure that the package indicates the material’s density and the presence of an UV-stabilizer which makes it possible to use the material for several seasons.
The Gexa Company produces materials of several densities to choose from: 17, 30, 42, 60, 80 and 110. Densities are indicated by numbers that show the actual amount of raw material in grams per the square meter of the finished fabric, and it is all quite simple – the bigger the number, the denser the material.
In addition to the actual density, the package should indicate the size and colour of the fabric, the production date, the number of the batch and of the packer, and the warranty period. Also indicated are the manufacturer’s address and the contact phone number to use in case you have questions about the product. Storage conditions and instructions for the use of the material should also be prescribed.
It should be noted that the Gexa Company meets all the above requirements. In addition, all products are checked for quality at all stages of the production cycle.
Gexa- Unwoven Materials LLC is a Russian manufacturer. Its production facilities are located in the Tver region. The materials produced by the factory are fully adapted for use in different regions of the country.
The Agrotex covering materials have a porous structure which ensures the correct circulation of air and water. This structure makes it possible to maintain optimal temperature conditions and moisture levels, prevents the appearance and accumulation of condensation, and plants can be watered less often than usual. Solar activity indicators are also taken into consideration, so for each region there is a specific percentage of UV-stabilizer content.
The Agrotex is used by the majority of Russian farmers, which speaks of a time-tested and scientifically proven quality. The material protects plantings from burnout, drying out and frost. So feel free to trust the choice of professionals!
Before buying the material, determine tasks for yourself – what crop do you need the unwoven material for? This is very important because for each plant you need a material of a certain density.
For instance, the white Agrotex 17-30 is designed for covering plants in beds without arcs, while Agrotex 42-60, a material with a higher density, is suitable for covering arcs, hotbeds and greenhouses. The materials of the above-mentioned densities provide plants with the required amount of diffused light (permit through up to 90 per cent of light), protect them from burns, sudden temperature changes and other adverse factors, creating a microclimate that is optimal for plants’ growth and development.
In addition to the standard white covering materials, the manufacturer offers white-and-red and red-and-yellow covering materials.
The white-and- red covering material gives plants the red light of the spectrum, which speeds up growth, stimulates early blossoming and increases crop yields. This allows gardeners to receive an additional income from the reaping and sale of an early harvest.
As for the red-and-yellow covering material, it not only accelerates growth but also protects from pests. The outside red layer ensures the light spectrum that stimulates growth, while the inner yellow layer takes on itself insects. This helps not only increase herbage and protect plants from adverse factors, but also save on means to control pests and even completely abandon the use of chemicals.
For a better effect, even bigger saving of resources and time and also for obtaining an excellent harvest, use together with the covering materials the Agrotex mulching materials of black and white-and-black colour (protection from overheat and burns) and of yellow-and-black colour (protection from pests). The required moisture level is maintained under the material; no soil crust is formed; weeds do not germinate. This makes it possible to water beds less often and to forget about weeding for the entire season.
The use of the Agrotex is a good solution for those who visit their allotment plots only at weekends, and the garden remains without watering almost all week.
We wish you a rich harvest grown with the use of the Agrotex materials!
