Set for cucumbers from the Research Institute of Vegetable Growing

This is the latest development for growing cucumbers. An integrated approach that provides protection against condensation and weeds has been tested and approved by the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Growing in Moscow.

The kit is used in the open ground and greenhouses for mulching and sheltering plants in order to obtain an early harvest, save on weeding and protect seedlings from recurrent frosts, and fruits from contact with the soil.

The kit includes: black mulching material "Agrotex 60" (1.06 x 6 m) and a two-layer anti-condensate film Mix 40 (3x8 m). 

Agrotex 60 mulching material absorbs sunlight, warms the soil, evenly distributes heat and moisture, and inhibits the growth of weeds. Thanks to this, plants take root faster, get stronger, gain growth, bloom and bear fruit.

Anti–condensate film Mix brand 40 is a waterproof material. It is used to cover beds and greenhouses on arcs. It helps to preserve seedlings and save money on the purchase of new plants, eliminating the possibility of losses due to the impact of adverse weather conditions.

The outer polyethylene layer of the canvas protects plants from pests and precipitation, including in the form of hail, the inner layer of non-woven material prevents the appearance and accumulation of condensation, protects against sudden temperature spikes and burns.

The combined material helps to create optimal conditions for plant growth and save on watering by minimizing moisture evaporation.

Thanks to this kit, it is possible not only to get the harvest ahead of time, to do without weeding throughout the season, but also to increase yields. From the garden, mulched with black Agrotex 60 and covered with anti-condensate film Mix 40, the scientists of the Research Institute of Vegetable Growing managed to collect 125% more vegetables than from the control plot, cucumbers on which were grown without mulch and shelter.

For the convenience of planting, ready-made holes for planting plants are provided in the mulching cloth – double-row perforation (25x25x8, staggered - see photo).
